This Sunday, June 7, at 11 am Pacific Time, 8 Herrialdeak Zuzenean, 8HZ,  the online radio show aimed at Basques in the diaspora that broadcasts in Basque, French, Spanish, and English through the Euskal Irratiak network, will be celebrating its tenth anniversary with a special broadcast. 8HZ is an initiative of the 8probintziak association, which seeks to foster links between the Basque Country and Basques all over the world.

The special anniversary show will include concerts by Begiz Begi and Baptiste Daleman, as well as live links with diaspora communities at the San Francisco Basque Picnic, and the Centro Vasco Viedma-Patagones. Details of the event can be found here, and you can catch up on previous shows here. If you want to watch the show, it will be streamed live via Kanaldude.

This is the kind of initiative discussed in The Basque Diaspora Webscape: Identity, Nation, and Homeland, 1990s-2010s,  by Pedro J. Oiarzabal, which examines the impact of new communications technologies on Basque homeland-diaspora relations.
